WikiMatrix / TikiWiki for project management

I am choosing a tool that would allow a remote team composed on internal staff and client to collaborate over the internet. the idea is to share project documents and tools.

Has anyone had any experience with Tikiwiki in such environment?

this conversation catches my eye even though I don't have anything specific to add re: TikiWiki - I got on the "advanced" wiki bandwagon due to my stake in GTD that led to GTDTiddlyWiki

rather than zoom down into specific wiki engines - can we start a forum to discuss the usage of wikis in project management?

perhaps we can narrow down our needs and start cross-breeding as any good project manager is responsible for catalyzing right? ;-)

Tikiwiki is my vehicle of choice for project management because of two things:

notifications system - a fully customizable watch system that integrates wiki with email.

vertical -and- horizontal permissions structure. not only can you create a hierchy of user permissions you can create multiple hierchies side by side - users with equal perms who can't see each others content. Most wikis do not have this feature.

ok three things - the trackers feature - a user customizable "database within the database" that can be used for todo's, bug reports, forms, etc.

i'm happy to collaborate with others working in this area.

Hi Julia!

I manage several Intranets/extranets with TikiWiki. It has all the features and a very flexible permission system, so you can determine who can see/do what.
