Need wiki that is intuitive to use, but powerful enough for...

Hi, I've never used a wiki before. I have a lot of experience with Wordpress, and some (frustrating) experience with Drupal.

Right now I don't have the time to learn something new if there is a steep learning curve, so I'm hoping for something fairly intuitive.

My new pet project will involve a lot of collaborative writing online, will need users with moderator privileges, and discussion of pages by users. Also a flagging system (much like Wikipedia), for articles (when there is an error, when the page is too incomplete, etc.).

Right now I'm looking at Mediawiki. I've discarded Tikiwiki because I hear there's a steep learning curve.

Is MediaWiki a good choice for such a project, or are there any other recommendations you might have?

Thanks.

Hi!

I am guessing you are on shared hosting so PHP is easier for you. I would suggest DokuWiki or PmWiki. They are easier to install than Tiki or MediaWiki because you don't need a DB.

As a bonus, PmWiki has this really nifty extension: http://www.wikipublisher.org/ so you can produce a really nice printed book.

Best regards,

M ;-)
