I have a couple of Dell machines that are used by different people all the time, what i wanted to know is if it is possible to create a tracking page on a wiki which tells me whos the current user of a particular system.
The page could look something like this
****************************
Current owner of machine 1 - **Name of the user**
Change owner of machine 1 - **will have a drop down list of all the people using these machines** **save button(to save the change and automatically display in the current owner tab)**
****************************
I am preferably looking for a which does not use a database ( I have looked into doku wiki and there's currently no functionality for doing this.this wiki will also hold information, documents related to my work
is there a way for doing this?Any help on it would be grateful
Thank you so much in advance

Are you sure?
Unless I misunderstand your request, I am pretty sure a large number of wiki engines are able to have a simple database link this.
What about this plugin?
http://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:data
In other engines:
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Plugins/EditTablePlugin
http://foswiki.org/Extensions/EditTablePlugin
http://doc.tiki.org/Trackers
Best regards,
M ;-)
