Why isn't there a Usenet group on wikis?

I know that wikis are discussed on usenet in a few places.

Why, though, isn't there a usenet group devoted to them? Nobody may know the answer, but I'm curious for your opinions.

Re: Why isn't there a Usenet group on wikis?

I do not know why there is no usenet group. Possibly because some wiki communities prefer to communicate in a wiki?

There is however a wiki-research mailing list. It is "dedicated to wiki research and practice. This list is open to any science and any technology as it relates to wikis, so it is not constrained to any particular view, wiki engine, or community."

well, I for one, choose forums over mailing lists! (kudos to forummatrix.org smile

Google has made mailing lists a bit more bearable through watching conversations and net result being about to oversee both mailing lists and personal conversations - barely  though!
