Generating PDFs from a Wiki Application

Hi All,
For one of our client, we have used TikiWiki (a wiki application) to develop documentation. Now, the requirement is to generate PDF from wiki source. TikiWiki provides a feature to generate PDFs, but the quality of PDF documents that are generated from TikWiki is not good. The PDF generation feature is still in beta phase, and the TikiWiki development community is working to enhance it.

I am looking out for various options (although I am not sure if these are feasible ones), such as:
- Converting wiki source to DocBook format, which can be converted to PDFs
- Exporting wiki source to OpenOffice and then using OpenOffice to create PDFs
- Using a third-party open source plug-in to directly convert wiki source to PDFs

There may be some more ideas that are not coming to my mind as of now.

Please let me know if there is anyway we can develop PDFs from TikiWiki. Our client is open for any plug-in, if it has GPL. Also, if it is not possible with TikiWiki, please suggest me any other wiki application that can convert the wiki source into PDFs with professional look and feel.

Thanks,
Vikas

Re: Generating PDFs from a Wiki Application

For MoinMoin there is a action plugin which uses HTMLDOC (http://www.htmldoc.org). Take a look at http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/ActionMarket/PdfAction You are also able to test the result before installation.

It's in Python of course big_smile
