There's an article at newscientist about an interesting project to bring semantic markup into Wikis. The project from Karlsruhe, Germany added relation markup to the MediWiki engine making it possible to create large ontologies really easily.

Personally I think the markup is somewhat cumbersome but I really like the idea.
