Hello,
I used the wizard and compared many wikis but there is one information I am missing. But maybe this option is not available in any of the wiki systems. Could it be?!? not really I think ![]()
What I wish: I am looking for wiki I can use in the Intranet of our small company. I wish to define different user groups (IT department, Support and accounting). Then it would be great when I could define also the content (for all, IT, support, accounting).
Then the support team can just see the content that is defined as "for all" or as "support" and have no access to the other content (for IT and for accounting).
The same for example for the IT guys. They must have just access to the content which is marked as "for all" and "IT"
Is that possible in one or more of the systems? Maybe with any plugin or something like this?
I hope anyone can help me here.
Kindly
Sabrina

Hi!
Wiki engines are by default open and all the information is accessible to all. This encourages cross-department collaboration. Ask yourself if you benefit more by sharing or having silos. There is also a possibility of not making it secret, but having different sections to help navigation and avoid information overload.
For when you need silos, most wiki engines will have a way of dealing with that, while the enterprise wikis will be better at it. Search for "permissions" or "workspaces" for the wiki engines you have in mind.
Here is an example: http://doc.tiki.org/Permissions
Best regards,
M ;-)

I agree. Doing it otherwise defeats the very purpose of the wiki-platform. ![]()
