Hi, I've been tasked with getting our company's QMS systems in order. We will be going for ISO9001 and 27001 certification. As part of this I need a system that will enable multiple persons to edit and contribute to the procedures and documentation and I think a wiki is the way to go. What I need is:
• Locally installed, not hosted
• Access controls
• Ability to edit documents and leave comments
• WYSIWYG editing, no code
• Good typographical tools
• Ability to export to either Word or PDF
• Change history (very important for audit trail)
• very good range of templates to help me built quickly (I'm not a coder)
A good example of what I need would be the BSI's own drafts site http://drafts.bsigroup.com/
Does anyone have any advice or experience of this application of a wiki?
Thanks

Hi Greg,
We implemented our QMS on Projectforum and found it to be quite good. It is easy to learn and has everything on your list.
You can read more about our implementation here: Using a Wiki to Implement a QMS.
Good luck!
Pancho
(P.S. I'm not affiliated with Projectforum at all.)

Thanks for your reply Pancho, I had already discovered your story a few months ago. You were the only company I could find through Google that had used a wiki for this purpose. I was amazed that this wasn't a more common application for a wiki.
I will take a closer look at Projectforum. Do you work for Geometrica, or are you a consultant?

I work for Geometrica.
Here's another example of QMS on wiki.
We also wrote a couple of other papers on our experience that you might find useful:
