Advertising revenue

Hi all,

I am looking for a wiki host that allows me to fund the wiki by including adverts (from e.g. AdSense) where I receive some revenue. I know wikidot offers this, but I also need a WYSIWYG editor and wikidot doesn't have this. Can anyone suggest a host?

Thanks

Re: Advertising revenue

Given that Wikidot gives you the solution you want, it's odd that you reject it merely due to Wikidot not having a wysiwyg editor. I've yet to see a situation where a wysiwyg editor a) works properly and b) is better than a syntax editor.

Hi!

Here is:
http://doc.tiki.org/AdSense

I also prefer wiki syntax:

But it's your choice:

Best regards,

M ;-)

Re: Advertising revenue

Thanks for the replies.

@Strathview - the success of my wiki depends on lots of people contributing a little, rather than a few contributing a lot. It seems to me that the way to maximise users is to make it looks like a word processor so there is no lead-in time for people. As it says on the tiki site: "The Density of Wiki markup doesn't make it look appealing to most people. This is the flip side of the "readability" advantage above. it is far from comfortable."

@marclaporte - Thanks for the links, tiki looks great. The trouble is that I haven't got a server to install it on, so need a wiki provider really.
