Wikis with InterWiki support offer a syntactic shorthand for linking to pages in other wikis. Typically you define a base URL for the wiki, and an abbreviation for it (such as “wp” for Wikipedia). Links to pages in that wiki can now use your wiki's shorthand, instead of specifying a full URL.
